Run the race

Marathon, a long-distance foot race is very familiar to all of us. Like the marathon, our life is also a long race. It should be run with focus, determination & above all with faith & purpose (Goals). A marathon runner needs to stay focused on His purpose, keep practicing to be a victor, take good care of his health by having proper sleep, the right food & staying hydrated. It is also important for him to be mentally prepared, start slow, relax & enjoy the run. A worldly race calls for so much preparation, focus, dedication, sacrifices & hard work. How much more inevitable it is for us to prepare for the race God has called us to run? Let’s start slow with our strength, rely on Him & He will carry us through. Let’s place our confidence in God & not on the little strength of ours. For when we are weak, He is strong. His strength is made perfect in our weakness. We are human beings & we often fall when storms of trials & temptations rage. But it is important to trust the sailor – the one who is in control. It is necessary to make sure that we place our destiny in front of us always & run so that we do not deviate & be misled into the tracks of others. In order to win, we have to run in our track, focusing on our destiny & not on others. So let’s stop peeping into other peoples’ tracks, but focus on ours to reach the victory line. As we depend on God to draw strength, He will help us reach the finishing line in time.

The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the LORD. – Proverbs 21:31 (NLT)

…let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. – Hebrews 12:1 (NLT)

Prayer:

Father God, help me to focus on you alone and run my race in this world. Help me to rely on your strength and prepare myself for the battles every day, for you have promised in Proverbs 21:31 that, “The horse is made ready for the battle but the victory belongs to the Lord.” Help me to finish this race successfully without being distracted by this world. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
