WORDTIPS: THRONE THROUGH THE CROSS – THE CROSS AND THE KINGDOM OF GOD (PART 1)

THE ERA OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD – EVERLASTING

  • No beginning or an end. His kingdom is an eternal kingdom; his dominion endures from generation to generation. (Daniel 4:3)

CONCEPT OF KINGDOM EXPANSION

Carry Your Cross to Reach Your Throne
  • The kingdom of God is the one everlasting kingdom that existed even before the creation of man. The concept of the expansion kingdom of God began at the creation of man, Adam and Eve, blessing them with everything they needed asking him to multiply, enlarge their blessings to the entire world, subdue it, and have dominion over every other creature on earth (Genesis 1:28).
  • But by submitting to the word of the serpent, man gave away his dominion and authority to the serpent.
  • Then God chose a DIFFERENT ROUTE for the expansion and thereby the establishment of His kingdom on earth, that is through a bit of suffering, ‘the bruising of His heel’. (Genesis 3:16)
  • Even today when man is given everything that he needs, and when there’s no pain around, he easily yields to the voices around him rather than submitting himself to His Creator.

PROCLAIMED AND DISPLAYED THE KINGDOM BUT WAS SENTENCED TO DEATH

  • God in His transcendent love for mankind gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to the world that none should perish (John 3:16). Jesus, the Son of God, who reigned, created and sustained heaven and earth together with the Father and the Holy Spirit, was born into this world as a an ordinary human being. His first sermon and all that ever followed were about the Kingdom of God.
  • His sole aim was to bring the whole earth again under the dominion of God the King by restoring back the authority and dominion from Satan and giving it again to man.
  • He preached the Kingdom of God and displayed it by healing the sick, casting the devils, feeding the hunger and forgiving the sinner wherever He went.
  • Being God Himself, He did not consider His equality with God as an advantage but emptied Himself not counting His reputation but took the form of a servant and obeyed His Father until His death on the cross, the very reason for which He came to the world (Philippians 2:6-8).
  • Messiah, the King of heaven and earth was sentenced to death at the cross as the chief culprit and there He hung among the thieves.
  • But death could not hold back the Author and Source of life as the world assumes and ridicules today.

THE THRONING AND DETHRONING AT THE CROSS

  • The same time when Jesus was nailed at the cross, as the world sees it as a failure, Jesus viewed it as being lifted up because the cross and the death that followed were purely temporary. He triumphed death and arose on the third day and is seated in the right hand of the Father on the throne for evermore.
  • This is what He says in John 12:31-33, that when He is lifted up at the cross, He will draw (lift) everyone to Himself, and that was the very moment that Satan would be cast down, disarming all the powers and authorities he had already taken away from man (Colossians 2:15).

OUR WAY TOO TO THE THRONE IS THE CROSS

  • Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God was slain for you and me, carrying all our sins, generational curses, sicknesses and poverty at the cross and in exchange has given us a sinless righteous living, blessings, health, wealth and the kingdom of God.
  • Let us always remember that it is the cross of Christ is where we have been lifted up. Jesus having gone this way through the cross to the throne again wants us who are seated with Him in the heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6-7) to carry our cross and follow Him to be worthy of Him (Matthew 10:38)
